Subedar Major Yogendra Singh Yadav

During the Kargil War of 1999, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav volunteered for one of the most dangerous missions of the conflict—the assault on Tiger Hill. As part of the leading attack team, he was responsible for climbing a near-vertical cliff under enemy observation and fire. Despite being struck by multiple bullets during the ascent, he continued climbing and reached the enemy position. His actions enabled the rest of his unit to advance and launch a successful assault against the heavily fortified position. Refusing to give up despite severe injuries, he played a crucial role in securing Tiger Hill. His extraordinary courage and determination earned him the Param Vir Chakra, making him one of the youngest recipients of India's highest wartime gallantry award.
